This little vessel, Saka, holds deep meaning for us at Likha+Mundo. It is our humble tribute to our small farmers whose strength, resilience, and heroism often go unseen but are larger than we can ever truly grasp.

This harvest season, palay is being bought from our farmers at just ₱12.70 per kilo. The break-even price? Between ₱12 to ₱14. Imagine that, after investing everything they have -- money, sweat, and long days under the scorching sun and heavy rains, our farmers are left with nothing. The price they are paid doesn’t even cover their costs, much less honor their labor.

Worse, the very system meant to protect and uplift them is often the one that keeps them oppressed. This is not just unfair; it’s unjust. And it needs to change.

Our farmers need us now more than ever. At Likha+Mundo, we hope to provide direct support to them soon. But even now, each of us can do something.

Buy local rice. Choose to buy directly from small farmers whenever you can. Share their stories. Speak up. Stand with them.

Because the rice on our tables comes at a cost far greater than we realize. It’s time we give back the dignity and support our farmers so rightfully deserve.
